Welcome!

Welcome to the Lucent Laboratory at Wilkes University. We are a computational biophysics group at a predominantly undergraduate university specializing in the study of fundamental biological processes through molecular simulation.

It is our mission to use research and mentoring to facilitate scientific understanding in a way that is not possible in a standard classroom environment. Our research focuses on the fields of protein folding, enzyme design, and protein-drug interactions. Please refer to our research page for more details about our work.

May 26, 2014 - CSIRO

Prof. Lucent will be visiting CSIRO in Melbourne, Australia this summer for a research collaboration. He will be working on design and synthesis of novel enzymes for use as bioremediants. He will be working with the Biophysics Group at the Parkville campus of CSIRO.

May 19, 2014 - New Lab Members

Welcome new lab members to the group. Our new group members include Dave Watkins (master's student in bioengineering), Aaron Cabinaw (undergraduate in EE & Physics), and Mike Cummings (undergraduate in Physics in Computer Science). We're looking forward to a great summer full of interesting research!
